Marginal Lab is now accepting guest contributions.

Whether you have taken an economics class, read a few books, or just followed economic ideas out of curiosity, if you have some exposure to economic thinking and an idea worth sharing, we would love to hear from you!

What We Are Looking For

  • Topic — Any economics topic is welcome
  • Format — Posts should fit one of our three formats: Essay, Tutorial, or Deep Dive
  • Language — All posts must be written in English
  • Originality — Posts must be original at the time of publication and not previously published elsewhere. After it goes live on Marginal Lab, you are welcome to cross-post it on your own site or elsewhere with a link back to the original
  • Flexibility — No strict word count or formatting rules. We will work with you to get it publication-ready

How It Works

We accept submissions in two ways:

Option 1: Submit a Full Article

Already have a completed draft? Send it straight to us.

  1. Send your draft — Email your complete article to marginallab@proton.me with the subject line Guest Post: [Your Title]. Copy and paste the template below to get started:

  1. Review and revise — We will review your draft and provide feedback, typically within 2 weeks. Most posts go through 1–2 rounds of revisions.
  2. Publish — Once both sides are happy, we will publish it on Marginal Lab with full credit to you.

Option 2: Pitch Your Idea

Prefer to check if your topic is a good fit before writing? Pitch it first.

  1. Pitch your idea — Email a brief summary of your topic and which format you have in mind to marginallab@proton.me with the subject line Guest Pitch: [Your Topic]. We will respond within 1 week. Copy and paste the template below to get started:

Every guest post is published with a byline. Optionally, we can create an author profile page for you with links to your website, social media, or academic profile.
